The Minnesota Department of Transportation District 8 in Willmar and surrounding towns is recruiting Emergency Snow Plow Operators at the Transportation Generalist level. These intermittent, on-call drivers respond to snow and ice events, work nights, weekends and holidays, and may report within one hour of being called.

Qualified applicants must have either one year of relevant snow/maintenance experience or completion of a Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance program, plus a valid CDL

Qualifications

• Experience in snow and ice, soils, road surface or related maintenance activities.
• One year of relevant roadway maintenance or driving experience.
• Completion of a Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance Program may substitute for one year of experience.
• Valid CDL, Class A or B with no air brake restriction.

Responsabilités

• Maintain roadways for snow and ice control.
• Prepare and inspect winter equipment and routes.
• Perform preseason snow route inspection and post-storm cleanup.
• Maintain documentation on snow/ice data and report inventory.
