MnDOT District 8 may fill up to 11 emergency snowplow operator positions in district Truck Stations across the district, including Willmar, Litchfield, Marshall, Pipestone, Hutchinson, Glencoe, Olivia, Redwood Falls, Montevideo, Granite Falls and Ivanhoe. Emergency employees are intermittent fill-in drivers for snow and ice shifts and may work nights, weekends and holidays.

Incumbents must be able to report within one hour of being called and have a valid CDL Class A or B with no air brake

Formación

• One year of experience in snow/ice, roadway/maintenance, or related activities.
• Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance Program can substitute for one year of experience.
• Valid CDL Class A or B with no air brake restriction; veterans may get a waiver per policy.

Responsabilidades

• Maintains roadways for snow and ice control
• Prepares and inspects winter equipment
• Performs preseason snow route inspection and post-storm cleanup
• Performs winter stockpile setup and transfer of anti-icing chemical
• Maintains documentation on snow and ice data for inventory and resource management
• Performs traffic control setups and/or notifies dispatch of disabled vehicles
