Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Program Assistant to support the Crossroads Men’s Emergency Shelter in Denver. This part-time, temporary role focuses on safety, front desk duties, and compassionate guest service while adhering to shelter policies.

You will manage shift responsibilities, assist with intake, maintain records, and coordinate with staff under the Program Manager; prior experience with vulnerable populations is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with homeless or vulnerable populations preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong customer service to guests and maintain professional relationships with residents and staff.
• Ensure compliance with bed agreements and program policies; maintain records.
• Perform front desk duties, greet guests, and assist with check-in procedures.
• Address conflicts, conduct safety checks, and respond to emergencies per protocols.
