Job summary

The Salvation Army Social Services is seeking a Program Assistant for the Crossroads Men’s Emergency Shelter. The role supports safety, security, and respectful interaction with households, staff, and volunteers staying at the facility.

Shifts include day, swing, overnight, weekends and holidays. A High School diploma or GED is required and prior work with vulnerable populations is preferred; this is a temporary, part-time position under the supervision of the Program Manager.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with homeless, addictions, mental illness or vulnerable populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong customer service to guests and maintain professional relationships with residents, volunteers and staff.
• Understand and communicate bed agreements and program policies; maintain accurate records.
• Perform front desk duties and assist guests with program check-in procedures.
• Address conflicts, conduct safety checks and respond to emergencies following protocols.
