Job summary

MedVet in the United States is seeking an Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team. You will participate in patient assessment, anesthesia, in-house laboratory work, and collaborate with DVMs and care teams in a demanding environment.

Candidates must be a State Registered Veterinary Technician and have prior veterinary experience; emergency experience is preferred. The role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within MedVet.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license is required.
• Prior veterinary experience is required; emergency experience is preferred.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions).

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions and medications.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
