Job summary

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician to support our fast-paced ER and specialty hospital. You will assist DVMs, monitor hospitalized patients, perform in-house labs, and provide client education on home care and medications.

We value teamwork, compassion and adaptability in a shifting schedule. The role requires prior veterinary experience, strong math and communication skills, and flexibility to work additional hours when needed.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, IV calculations, unit conversions).
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work extra hours when necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education on home care, medications and hospitalized patients.
