Job summary

MedVet is a fast-growing Emergency and Specialty provider with practices nationwide. We are looking for a collaborative and driven Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our ER team in Kentucky, with a schedule of Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 p.m.

to 9 a.m., and alternating weekends. You will record rounds, evaluate patients, coordinate with care team, educate clients, assist DVM, monitor anesthesia, and perform in-house labs.

Qualifications

• State-registered veterinary technician license is required.
• Prior emergency veterinary experience preferred.
• Proficient in patient assessment and client communication.
• Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced ER.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Coordinate with patient care team regarding treatment plans and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education on home care, medications and wellness updates for hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside lab testing.
