The role emphasizes teaching patients and families about conditions, plans, medications, and follow-up steps while maintaining safety and efficiency in a vibrant department.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course within 18 months of employment start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale within 60 days of employment start date.
• (RN) Registered Nurse.
• Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses or Trauma Nursing Core Course within 18 months of employment start date.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management with reassessments after interventions.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered and document care in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications and potential side effects.
• Educate on non-medicinal follow-up measures and prepare patients for future self-management.
