Job summary

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital in Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with the care team. You will assess pain, document care, respond to requests, and educate patients and families about conditions and follow-up.

Required Florida RN license (or multistate), BLS, acute care experience preferred, and timely completion of certifications such as NIH Stroke Scale, TNCC, ACLS, and PALS as applicable. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required with 60 days to obtain Florida license after relocation.
• BLS-AHA Provider card required within 30 days of start
• Associate Degree, Registered Nurse Diploma
• RN in acute care environment is preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• TNCC required within 1 year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• 1+ years experience PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers and the care team.
• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management.
• Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs.
• Educates patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications and follow-up measures; translates complex terms for understanding.
• Educates patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy lifestyle changes.
