Job summary

HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton, FL is seeking an ER Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, fast-paced care in a 380+ bed emergency department. You will triage patients, administer medications, document results, and collaborate with the team to improve outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a Florida RN license (or compact), with ASN/ Diploma and BSN preferred. Current BLS; ACLS, PALS/ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, and CEN certifications within required timelines are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse; FL RN license active within 60 days if compact.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• PALS and/or ENPC certifications within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• TNCC within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• CPI training within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• CEN certification within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• Core competencies: critical thinking, service excellence, interpersonal communication, PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage efficient flow of patients including triage, screening, preparation for exam, providing general nursing care, and arranging or testing and admissions.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
