Position Summary:

Provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process. Meets the physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural needs of patients and families. Communicates effectively with the healthcare team about patient condition and response to treatment.

Reports to: Director of Emergency Services

Responsibilities:

1. Performs head-to-toe assessments and reassessments as per policy.
2. Assesses and manages pain, educating patients and families.
3. Provides age-specific patient care considering clinical needs.
4. Administers medications correctly, following the 6 rights.
5. Develops and revises care and educational plans.
6. Assists physicians and performs technical procedures.
7. Ensures patient safety and proper documentation.
8. Communicates professionally with team members and patients.
9. Operates equipment safely and educates patients on disease processes.
10. Follows evidence-based practices and uses resources efficiently.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in nursing required.
• Current North Carolina or compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days; ACLS and PALS within 6 months.
• Handle with Care certification within 6 months.

Skills and Experience:

• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently.
• Experience in healthcare preferred (1 year).
