Position Summary

Provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Meets the physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural, and family needs. Communicates effectively with the healthcare team about patient status and response to treatment.

Responsibilities

1. Performs head-to-toe assessments and reassessments as per policy.
2. Manages pain assessment and education.
3. Provides patient care considering age-specific needs.
4. Administers medications correctly, following the 6 rights.
5. Develops and revises care and educational plans based on patient diagnosis and symptoms.
6. Assists with procedures and performs technical skills within licensure.
7. Ensures patient safety and proper documentation.
8. Communicates with patients, families, and team members professionally.
9. Maintains equipment safety and educates patients about their disease process.
10. Follows evidence-based practices and utilizes resources efficiently.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing required.
• Current RN license in North Carolina or a compact state.
• BLS certification within 30 days; ACLS and PALS within 6 months.
• Handle with Care (HWC) certification within 6 months.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently.
• Preferred: 1 year of healthcare experience.
