Position Summary

Provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Addresses the physical, psychosocial, religious, cultural, and family needs. Communicates effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient condition and response to treatment.

Responsibilities
  1. Performs head-to-toe assessments and reassessments per policy.
  2. Assesses and manages pain, educating patients and families.
  3. Provides age-specific patient care, demonstrating knowledge of medication administration and safety.
  4. Develops, implements, and revises care and educational plans.
  5. Assists physicians with procedures and performs technical services within licensure.
  6. Ensures patient safety and proper documentation.
  7. Communicates clearly with team members and updates physicians on patient status.
  8. Operates equipment safely and educates patients on disease processes.
  9. Utilizes resources efficiently and adheres to evidence-based practices.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associates degree in nursing required.
  • Current North Carolina or compact RN license required.
  • BLS certification within 30 days; ACLS and PALS within 6 months.
  • Handle with Care (HWC) certification within 6 months.
  • Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently.
  • Minimum 1 year healthcare experience preferred.
