Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered care tailored to department needs, adhering to state and specialty standards. Collaborating with medical providers and care team members, the RN offers individualized, compassionate care using models like “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN advocates for patients and families, embodying the organization’s mission and values to deliver exceptional patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

• Regularly assesses patient pain and manages it effectively, including reassessment after interventions.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, and other tasks as ordered, documenting care promptly and thoroughly.
• Responds quickly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving issues proactively.
• Educates patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, medications, side effects, and follow-up care, translating complex terminology for clarity.
• Guides patients and families on lifestyle modifications, disease prevention, and self-management strategies.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license for Virginia or multistate compact license.
• ACLS certification within 60 days of employment.
• BLS certification within 30 days.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 60 days.
• PALS certification within 60 days.
