Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Gilbert, Arizona is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to support physicians and nurses in safely prescribing and dispensing medications to help patients recover.

You will provide pharmacokinetic and therapeutic consultation for the ED, review orders for safety and effectiveness, and ensure accurate computer entry, labeling, and dispensing of medications. Strong problem-solving and real-time research are essential.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist with a pharmacy degree and AZ licensure.
• American Heart Association CPR certification required.
• ED clinical pharmacy services experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Document clinical activities and interventions (consults, patient teachings, etc.).
• Interpret medication orders for drug interactions and appropriate drug selection; enter and verify orders, label and dispense medications promptly.
• Verify medications prepared by other pharmacy personnel.
• Communicate drug information to patients and health professionals; resolve drug-related problems with other clinicians.
• Maintain knowledge base to provide clinical services for all age groups served; operate automated systems.
