Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to support the ED team by providing direct patient care under licensed staff supervision. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, stocked department and effective communication with the care team.

Responsibilities include assisting with splints, IVs, EKGs, accuchecks, and vital signs, while ensuring safety, proper documentation in the EMR, and adherence to PPE and infection control protocols. Night shift coverage is typical.

Qualifications

• Completion of Technical School nursing assistant, EMT, phlebotomy, or medical assistant courses.
• CNA/EMT/Phlebotomy/MA certifications preferred.
• 0–1 years of clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ED including splinting, Foley catheter insertion, accuchecks, vital signs, EKGs and IV insertion.
• Assist with patient transport to/from units, procedures and discharge areas.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and infection-control compliant environment and properly functioning equipment.
• Document patient care activities in the EMR system.
• Respond to emergencies and support care team to ensure patient safety.
