Saint Francis Hospital is seeking an ER Tech to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room and support to medical staff and licensed nurses. This full-time, 12-hour night shift role (7:00 p.m.

– 7:30 a.m.) requires attendance at a 6–10 week training/orientation period in the ED and may include weekend/holiday coverage. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, nutrition and elimination needs, supporting patient plans of care, and helping with admissions, discharges and

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• EMT-B, Medical Assistant or CNA with acute care experience preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform simple math calculations required.
• Ability pass drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Provides for personal care and safety needs of patients.
• Provides for nutrition and elimination needs of patients.
• Performs specific procedures according to patient plan of care.
• Assists with admission, discharge and transfer for patients on and off unit.
• Communicates effectively with patients, family member and hospital personnel.
• Maintains safe unit environment, supplies and equipment to facilitate patient care.
