Job summary

North Texas Tollway Authority is seeking Roadside Safety Services specialists to rapidly remove debris and assist disabled motorists on the tollway. Roles include gas/water provision, tire changes, minor repairs, and accident scene support with first aid and traffic control.

Essential employee with attendance during emergencies or inclement weather; heavy lifting and varied shifts required. Starting pay is $22/hr with a $2,000 retention bonus; US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0 - 3 years' experience
• Must have a valid Texas Driver's License (Class C)
• Must pass pre-employment drug and background screens
• CJIS certification and compliance with CJIS security standards
• Ability to work shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
• Lift up to 100 pounds (assisted or unassisted)
• Work in extreme conditions (heat/cold, dust, noise, traffic)

Responsibilities

• Remove disabled vehicles and those involved in accidents from the tollway.
• Assist stranded motorists with gas/water, tire changes, minor repairs and recoveries; assist at accident scenes with first aid and traffic control.
• Provide directions to motorists and report abandoned vehicles; remove debris from the roadway.
• Maintain records by entering information into databases and completing reports.
• Perform routine office duties: logs, inquiries, typing, filing, and communications with other departments.
• Ensure vehicles are operational during shifts; operate heavy-duty trucks and safety gear; follow procedures.
