Job summary

Foster Chevrolet in Sandusky, OH is hiring a Roadside Assistant Technician in our towing department. The role requires a valid driver’s license, DOT certification or ability to obtain one, and a clean driving record.

You’ll provide roadside assistance and operate the service vehicle to help motorists in need. Compensation is commission-based with bonus opportunities; training is hourly during onboarding, plus a $500 stay bonus for new hires who remain in good standing for six months.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• DOT certification or ability to obtain one.
• Clean driving record that meets insurance requirements.
• Ability to pass a drug test and meet DOT compliance standards.
• Experience in roadside assistance is a plus; training is available.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Insurance will review driving activity, including incidents.
• Excessive violations may disqualify applicants.

Responsibilities

• Operate a service vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Provide roadside assistance services, including lockouts, tire changes, battery jumps and installs.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to provide timely service.
• Maintain accurate service records and vehicle logs.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the assigned service vehicle.
