Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelors of Nursing preferred
• Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements
• RN I <1 year
• RN II = 1-3 years
• RN III = 3-10 years
• RN IV = 10+ years

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and appropriate care to patients, according to the nursing skills inventory and patient needs.
• Coordinates planning for nursing care with an interdisciplinary team and makes clinical decisions.
• Collaborates with team and may delegate care to achieve positive outcomes.
• Plans and implements discharge and/or transfer plans.
• Participates in program evaluation, process improvement and client-centered outcomes.
• Considers diverse patient needs across the care continuum, ensuring high quality service.
• Adheres to regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
• Maintains safety for patients, staff and visitors within policy and budget.
• Supports professional growth and acts as a preceptor and mentor.
• Other duties as assigned.
