The role emphasizes pain management, timely documentation, responsive patient assistance, and education for patients and families about conditions, treatments, and self-management.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• RN Diploma or Associate Degree must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassessments.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider and documents care.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and supports caregivers.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plan, medications and follow-up measures.
• Communicates and translates medical terminology to ensure understanding.
• Promotes healthy lifestyle, diet, exercise, and self-management post-discharge.
