Job summary

Xcel Energy seeks an Emergency Response Program Manager to govern the emergency response program, plan lifecycle management, hazard assessments, training, drills, and corrective actions. You will align with Operations Managers to maintain site Emergency Action Plans for facilities and future renewables.

The role requires extensive experience in emergency preparedness and utility operations, with strong leadership and cross‑functional collaboration to strengthen enterprise response capabilities.

Qualifications

• Ten years of progressive experience in emergency preparedness, electric utility operations, or incident management.
• Strong knowledge of utility operations and ICS/NIMS.
• Experience governing emergency response programs across multiple sites is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Govern fleet emergency-preparedness standards, procedures, records, and annual work plan.
• Coordinate annual EAP reviews, lead all-hazards assessments, and integrate results into plans, training, exercises, and mitigation actions.
• Provide technical leadership to site Emergency Plan stakeholders and manage major projects through design and implementation.
• Define role-based NIMS/ICS training requirements and maintain completion records.
• Support emergency-planning needs for acquisitions, new builds, and technology changes.
