Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Services Corp. seeks an Emergency Preparedness Specialist to join the System Manager of Emergency Preparedness and Response.

You will coordinate drills, educate stakeholders, and lead after-action reporting across the delivery network in collaboration with internal teams, Yale University, and local, state, and federal agencies. The role requires a Bachelor's in Emergency Management or related field, at least one year in emergency management, and knowledge of healthcare

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or related field.
• Minimum one year of experience in emergency management.
• Knowledge of healthcare and emergency preparedness.
• Ability to build relationships with hospitals and agencies.
• Licensure/licensing requirements including NIMS and FEMA within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and evaluating programs; create drill timelines and file after-action reports.
• Provide routine training on evacuation equipment, hazmat PPE, and other education programs.
• Coordinate operational response for the delivery network and act as back-up system-wide.
• Develop after-action reports and support disaster recovery planning.
• Collaborate with managers to standardize plans and processes across the system.
• Prepare routine performance and progress reports for committees.
• Conduct rounds to raise awareness and educate on emergency preparedness.
• Review and maintain all plans ensuring timelines compliance.
