Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Services Corp. is seeking an Emergency Preparedness Specialist to coordinate system-wide efforts in emergency planning, drills, and education.

The role collaborates with hospitals, agencies, and Yale University to align mission, vision, and strategic goals. Responsibilities include developing After-Action Reports, improving disaster recovery plans, and facilitating preparedness training.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in emergency management.
• Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare and emergency preparedness, and ability to build working relationships with hospitals and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and evaluating programs; create timelines for drills and file after-action reports promptly.
• Provide training on evacuation equipment, hazmat and PPE; maintain inventory and equipment knowledge.
• Coordinate operational response for the assigned delivery network and act as back-up across the system; facilitate SBAR and HICS process.
• Develop and deliver After-Action Reports; support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Collaborate to standardize plans and present performance updates to DN EM meetings and committees.
• Educate stakeholders during unit rounds on emergency preparedness and compliance with timelines.
• Review and maintain all plans to ensure timely updates and adherence to standards.
• Provide ongoing education as assigned.
