Job summary

NiSource is seeking an Emergency Manager to lead EP&R plans, design drills, and coordinate cross-state preparedness efforts across Columbus, OH and Merrillville, IN. You will drive incident execution, training, after-action reviews, and regulatory filings while aligning with corporate safety goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years in emergency management, NIMS/ISC certifications, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in developing emergency management programs.
• Completion of ISC 100, 200, 300, 400, and NIMS 700 and 800.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Leader in Incident Execution: Support the Incident Commander in executing the EP& R plan during incidents.
• Training Strategy and Execution: Create, support, and execute overall emergency response training plans.
• After Action Reviews: Lead strategy for AAR and corrective actions per API RP173.
• Technology Strategy Development: Develop tech strategies for maintaining EP&R plans.
• Relationship Management: Build relationships with utility leaders, emergency agencies, and officials.
• Regulatory Compliance: Provide emergency preparedness information for regulatory filings.
• Continuous Improvement: Improve emergency plans and processes activated during incidents.
• Plan Tracking and Updates: Track changes to emergency plans.
• Employee Role Management: Manage ICS roles and associated records.
• Record Retention: Ensure retention of incident documentation.
