Job summary

American Electric Power seeks an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator to maintain the Cook Plant Emergency Plan and support Beyond Design Basis initiatives. You will coordinate drills, deliver training, and help implement program improvements in line with NRC requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or 2+ years of related experience with alternative degree.
• Associate's with 2 years' relevant experience acceptable.
• High School with 4+ years' relevant experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Cook Plant Emergency Plan and Beyond Design Basis program documents per regulatory and license basis.
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct Emergency Preparedness drills and exercises.
• Prepare and present training on Emergency Preparedness and Emergency Response requirements.
• Participate in program improvement projects prompted by NRC rulemaking and industry initiatives.
• Contribute to corrective action, self-assessment, benchmarking, and inspections to improve programs.
• Maintain Emergency Preparedness and Emergency Response facilities and equipment in a ready condition.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Engineering/Energy Technology, Health Physics or related technical field

Associate's degree in Emergency Management, Engineering/Energy Technology, Health Physics or related technical field and 2 years' relevant job experience

High School diploma/GED and 4 years' relevant job experience
