Job summary

Heema seeks an Emergency Management Coordinator to support the County’s emergency planning and public safety programs. You will assist in developing and implementing the county’s Emergency Management Plan and coordinate educational and preparedness activities for the public.

The role requires collaboration with local agencies, training personnel, and maintaining emergency response documentation. This is a full-time, non-exempt position based in Dodge City, KS.

Qualifications

• Experience in emergency management or public safety is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; Associate degree preferred.
• Kansas driver’s license and ability to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist in activation and coordination of the Emergency Operations Center during weather-related and other emergencies.
• Coordinate with agencies to establish evacuation corridors and establish emergency functions.
• Provide training and exercises per Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) standards.
• Assist in planning, budgeting, and documenting expenditures for federal reimbursement.
• Promote emergency preparedness through community materials and outreach.
