Job summary

The Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response (OEPR) at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene seeks a seasoned project manager to coordinate strategic initiatives, prepare briefing materials, and liaise with agency leadership for timely execution of programs. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in emergency management, public health, disaster management, emergency preparedness/administration, public administration, or related field and one year of professional experience; or Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or equivalent combination with at least one year in related area.

Responsibilities

• Manage or support special projects and strategic initiatives for the division.
• Lead preparation for and attend high-level meetings with agency and City leadership, synthesizing information for reports and updates.
• Track and ensure Deputy Commissioner review and approval of division documents and policies.
• Provide the Deputy Commissioner with regular updates on projects by gathering information from program leads.
• Plan division-wide events and staff trainings.
• Prepare materials and maintain records of meetings and follow-ups; monitor tasks and deadlines.
