Job summary
The City of Philadelphia's Office of Emergency Management is seeking an Assistant Deputy Director to lead preparedness, response, and recovery efforts across threats and hazards. You will guide strategic program implementation, engage partners, and support health, infrastructure, and community initiatives to strengthen city resilience.
Ideal candidates bring extensive project management experience, strong leadership, and a track record of cross‑agency collaboration in a fast-paced public service
Qualifications
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or 4 years in emergency/crisis management with graduate education.
- Minimum of 2 years of management/supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with interagency partners to support daily operations and special events.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans with Planning Division.
- Recruitment and staffing support for OEM personnel as needed.
- Define KPIs and oversee execution of multi-year strategic plan.
- Serve as OEM Response Executive during emergencies and activations.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational readiness with partners.
