Job summary

DeKalb Public Health seeks a Public Health Preparedness Training and Exercise Coordinator to join District 3-5 County. Under limited supervision, you will assess training needs, plan and schedule exercises, prepare after action reports, and track implementation of improvement plans to strengthen community readiness.

The role requires a strong background in emergency preparedness/training, NIMS familiarity, and ability to coordinate across multiple partners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years of relevant training/educational experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred for advanced roles and career progression
• Experience in Emergency Preparedness, training design, and program management is desirable

Responsibilities

• Assess Emergency Preparedness training and exercise needs for the public health district.
• Plan and schedule exercises to assess plans and facilitate after action reviews.
• Prepare after action reports and improvement plans and track completion of tasks.
