Job summary

TRC, Member of WSP, seeks an experienced Emergency Planner to support a government client in the Boston Metro area. You will lead the development of emergency plans, continuity measures, and site-specific documentation while coordinating with the agency and TRC teams.

You will refine policies, support trainings, and participate in tabletop and real incidents. This early-to-mid career role offers growth, exposure to federal/state partners, and stability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in emergency management or related field.
• 5-10 years of related experience in Emergency Planning and Management.
• Emergency Management certifications such as HSEEP, MSP, CBCP, CEM, CDEP, NIMS, or related.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Experience with government agencies or nonprofits.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of emergency planning, including hazard-specific emergency management plans, continuity of operations plans, and facility security & emergency action plans.
• Maintain a high standard of technical writing and editing.
• Support and/or facilitate and document incident After Action Reviews for significant incidents and events.
• Work closely with other external partner agencies to advance agency emergency planning and preparedness, including officials with local, state, and federal law enforcement, transportation, security, operations, facilities, or similar organizations.
• Establish and maintain strong familiarity and working relationships with appropriate operational contacts within multiple agency divisions.
• Represent the agency during activations of the State Emergency Operations Center agency EOCs.
• Participate in development and execution of tabletop and full-scale exercises.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership for Security and Emergency Management with the agency and TRC.
• Support the coordination of large-scale events and/or incidents such as high-traffic events within MA, and the City of Boston.
