Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a Hospital Paramedic for the South OKC Freestanding ED. You will function under the supervision of a shift supervisor and clinical direction of the ED physician to collect data, monitor patient status, and support the care team.

The position requires Paramedic Training, state licensure, and NR-EMT certification with BLS, PALS, and ACLS within specified windows. You will perform IV/IO access, administer meds, and assist with patient care in a fast-paced ED

Qualifications

• Paramedic Training Program required.
• 2 years of hospital and/or pre-hospital experience providing immediate stabilization and transport of sick and injured patients required.
• Paramedic License issued by the State of Oklahoma required. Paramedic Certification (NR-EMT) required. BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required within specified time frames.

Responsibilities

• Provide care per OU Health policies and procedures.
• Carry out treatment plans with patient and healthcare team.
• Maintain communication with attending physician and nurse.
• Monitor patient signs and symptoms; report changes.
• Assist nurse in delivering and documenting care.
• Ensure patient safety and charting competency.
• Record vital signs and intake/output.
• Establish IV/IO/ultrasound-guided IV access and perform venipunctures.
• Administer medications per policy under physician direction.
