Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Hospital Paramedic for the South OKC/Freestanding Emergency Department. You will provide emergency patient care under ED physician guidance and collaborate with nurses and the healthcare team.

Responsibilities include administering medications per policy, monitoring patients, and supporting the care plan. Requires paramedic licensure, BLS, PALS, ACLS, and two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Paramedic Training Program required.
• 2 years of hospital and/or pre-hospital experience required.
• Paramedic license and certifications per state guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provides care in accordance with OU Health policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with patient and family and healthcare team on treatment plan.
• Maintains clear communication with attending physician and nurse about patient care issues.
• Observes and reports patient signs or symptoms.
• Contributes information to the care plan with licensed staff.
• Assists licensed nurse in delivering and documenting care.
• Ensures patient safety and documentation quality.
• Takes vital signs and records inputs/outputs.
• Attaches monitors and performs EKGs as directed.
• Receives EMS patients and prepares them for physician care.
• Collects routine lab specimens as directed and performs basic lab procedures.
• Establishes IV/IO lines and ultrasound-guided IVs.
• Performs venipunctures and manages IVs.
