Job summary

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, GA, is hiring a Paramedic for full-time evening shifts in the Emergency Department. The 38-bed ED sees about 160 patients daily and features a Stroke and STEMI program with helicopter pads on campus.

The Paramedic will support RNs and physicians, perform EKGs, start IVs, draw blood, and transport patients while delivering age-appropriate care. BLS is required; ACLS and PALS within timeframe; NIH preferred.

Qualifications

• EMT-Paramedic credentials required with Georgia license.
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred/required within timeframe.
• NIH certification preferred; must obtain within timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Manage intramuscular, sublingual, IV medications and anaphylaxis protocol.
• Assess body systems including neurological and cardiac.
• Provide safe patient care with teamwork and age-appropriate needs.
• Perform EKGs.
• Perform Foley catheters.
• Start IVs, IOs and draw blood.
• Transport patients to other departments.
• Monitor for arrhythmias and report changes promptly.
