Job summary

Insurcomm Restoration, part of Fortify Companies, seeks a Mitigation Technician to provide emergency restoration services to families and businesses in Portland, Maine. Starting pay is $20/hour with a $1,500 sign-on bonus based on experience and qualifications.

You will stabilize properties, minimize further damage, and deliver professional service during stressful situations, working on the front lines of recovery in a field-based, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC Certification.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication and customer-service mindset.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to navigate Microsoft Teams and document onsite work.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess property damage from fire, water, mold, and weather events.
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation per IICRC standards.
• Remove and dispose of damaged materials safely and efficiently.
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected spaces.
• Collaborate with the Contents Division to handle salvageable items.
• Document job progress with photos and notes using PSA and other software.
• Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and respect.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
• Set up, operate, clean, and store tools and equipment.
• Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols, including documentation of consumables.
• Work with project managers and crew chiefs.
