Job summary

Responsibilities include maintaining vehicle readiness, documenting care, coordinating with dispatch and medical control, and ensuring patient safety and privacy in accordance with HIPAA and state laws.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high degree of personal integrity and responsibility.
• Currently licensed, certified or registered by the appropriate state agencies.
• CPR certification by the AHA or other appropriate organization.
• Currently licensed with the appropriate level of state motor vehicle operator's license.
• Currently has a clean driving record as approved by the company vehicle liability insurer.

Responsibilities

• Provides stand-by emergency medical care and transportation at special event venues.
• Responds to emergency scenes to provide emergency medical care and transportation.
• Responds to hospitals, nursing homes and other locations to provide non-emergency medical care and transportation.
• Delivers patient care and monitoring from scene to hospital or facility following local protocols and state law.
• Maintains communication with dispatch and medical control; documents all responses and transports.
• Performs daily vehicle and equipment readiness checks, sanitizing, restocking and routine maintenance as required.
• Acts as team leader when needed, directing EMS team members during emergencies and transfers.
• Adheres to Universal Precautions and infection control policies; protects patient privacy under HIPAA.
