Job summary

AFC Urgent Care is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our clinical team in a fast-paced, clinic-based setting. You will room patients, obtain vital signs, assist with examinations, perform point-of-care testing, and help with a variety of urgent care procedures.

Typical duties include administering medications where permitted, preparing rooms, documenting in the EHR, and ensuring smooth patient flow. Strong teamwork and compassionate communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Current EMT certification.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical histories.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• Perform point-of-care testing and collect specimens.
• Perform EKGs and other clinical testing as trained.
• Assist with wound care, splinting, and other urgent care procedures.
• Administer medications and injections when permitted by training, clinic policy, and applicable regulations.
• Prepare exam and procedure rooms.
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Assist with patient flow to keep visits efficient.
• Maintain clinical supplies and restock rooms.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and families.
• Work collaboratively with providers, medical assistants, front desk staff, and other clinic team members.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Urgent Care

AFC Urgent Care is looking for a dependable, energetic, and patient-focused Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our clinical team.

This is a great opportunity for an EMT who enjoys hands-on patient care but is looking for a clinic-based position outside of the traditional ambulance or emergency department setting.

Position Overview

As an EMT at AFC Urgent Care, you will work alongside our medical providers and clinical team to help deliver efficient, high-quality care to patients of all ages. Our clinics are fast-paced, team-oriented environments where EMTs play an important role in both patient care and clinic operations.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical histories
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures
• Perform point-of-care testing and collect specimens
• Perform EKGs and other clinical testing as trained
• Assist with wound care, splinting, and other urgent care procedures
• Administer medications and injections when permitted by training, clinic policy, and applicable regulations

• Clean and sterilize equipment and maintain appropriate infection-control standards
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
• Assist with patient flow to keep visits efficient
• Maintain clinical supplies and restock rooms
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and families
• Work collaboratively with providers, medical assistants, front desk staff, and other members of the clinic team

Qualifications

• Current EMT certification

Schedule

Our urgent care clinics are open seven days a week. Candidates should have some availability for weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on clinic staffing needs.
