County Emergency Communications in Winthrop, ME is seeking Emergency Medical Dispatchers to support urgent medical calls through an agency-approved system. You will gather details, establish priorities, and coordinate resources for EMS responders, following protocols and oversight requirements.

Depending on training and assignment, you may provide approved instructions before responders arrive. Shifts may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed by the employer.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required; EMS training may be sponsored.
• EMD certification may be required before appointment.
• CPR certification may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm patient location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition.
• Determine response priority through the approved medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel.
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities.
