County Emergency Communications in Walling, TN is seeking a qualified Emergency Dispatcher to handle inbound calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies. You will confirm patient location, callback number, and access details, and determine priority using the dispatch system.

The role may require overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, rotating schedules, and overtime. A high school diploma is commonly required, CPR certification, and possible additional coursework; EMT/paramedic

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; EMD certification may be required.
• CPR certification and related coursework may be required.
• EMT/paramedic credentials are not universally required.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies
• Confirm the patient's location, callback number, and access details
• Ask approved questions about the patient's condition
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities
