County Emergency Communications in Georgetown seeks experienced Emergency Medical Dispatchers to handle urgent medical calls, gather essential data, and coordinate response priorities. You will provide protocol-based guidance and support to responders, ensuring accurate communication of patient information and scene hazards.

Position involves extended console work, potential overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; emergency dispatch certification preferred.
• CPR certification and additional coursework may be required; EMT/paramedic credentials not universally required.
• Candidate must be able to follow protocols and maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other emergencies.
• Confirm patient location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about patient’s condition.
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when assigned.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel.
