Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management or related field with 2 years’ experience.
• Associate’s degree in Emergency Management or related field with 4 years’ experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop plans for preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery to disasters.
• Maintain partnerships with local first responder agencies, municipalities, state and federal partners, NGOs, and community groups.
• Provide day-to-day and detailed planning, implementation, and evaluation of the emergency management plan.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other agencies during emergencies and disasters.
• Administer the SARA Title III hazardous materials program and coordinate grant activities.
• Serve as Emergency Management Staff Duty Officer on-call and train for capabilities.
• Engage with community groups and facilities to assist in developing emergency response plans.
• Ensure readiness of the EOC and staff the EOC when activated.
