Job summary

Anderson County Government is seeking an Emergency Management Coordinator to support preparedness, response, and planning efforts. You will build CERT capabilities, develop Incident Action Plans, and maintain critical infrastructure knowledge while coordinating with local officials and first responders.

You will work extended hours during emergencies, manage records, and assist the EMA Director with research and administrative duties. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; preferred Bachelor's in a related field.
• Experience: 3 years in Emergency Management, Fire, EMS, or related field.
• Licensing: Valid Driver's License.
• Certifications: Hazardous Materials Technician certification (TEMA).
• FEMA Training: ICS courses listed (100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800, G-191, G-2300).
• Programmatic: Experience with Training and Exercise Planning; familiarity with alerting systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facilities, equipment, and supplies; document findings.
• Operate department vehicles and tow trailers as needed.
• Monitor incident information and respond using approved checklists.
• Document operations data and disseminate information per records guidance.
• Assist with training and exercise requirements set by authorities.
