Job summary

Responsibilities include leading incident action planning, recruiting CERT volunteers, and managing division budgets while representing the County at professional meetings and seminars. Remote work not indicated; strict on-site presence expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management or related field.
• Five years of professional experience in program development and preparedness planning.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Equivalent combination of experience, education and training may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Organize and direct the County’s Emergency Management and Homeland Security programs across mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
• Prepare and maintain the County’s Emergency Operations Center activation procedures and call out lists.
• Develop and maintain the Emergency Operation Plan, hazard/operational annexes and related plans.
• Lead Event/Incident Action Planning and coordinate with internal and external participants.
• Recruit, train and direct volunteers, including CERT teams.
• Prepare and manage the Emergency Management division budget, contracts and vendors.
• Represent the County at professional meetings and seminars on disaster preparedness.
