Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking an Emergency Management Coordinator to develop plans for preparedness, response, and recovery from unusual emergencies. You will work from the state‑of‑the‑art EOC and collaborate with partners to strengthen regional preparedness and response.

The role requires two years of professional experience in emergency management program or project management and a Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public or business administration.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience in program or project management for emergency management.
• Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public or business administration, or related field.
• Combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementation of Department programs, projects, and initiatives.
• Develop and maintain emergency management plans, SOPs, and manuals for the County.
• Foster collaborations with local, state, and federal agencies and partners.
• Design and conduct trainings, workshops, and full-scale exercises per guidance.
• Conduct after‑action reviews and drive continuous improvement after activations.
• Serve as essential personnel in EOC during emergencies and exercises 24/7.
