Job summary

The State of Missouri seeks a public-safety professional to lead emergency management activities in Jefferson City. The role focuses on planning, preparedness, and coordinating disaster response with state and local partners, including faith-based and volunteer groups.

Key duties include developing COADs/LTRCs, leading MOVOAD efforts, fostering cross-agency collaboration, presenting to groups, and training staff in FEMA Mass Care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to plan, organize, and complete complex assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and sustainment of COADs and LTRCs within SEMA regions.
• Serve as EHS lead or support for MOVOAD and related partnerships.
• Foster relationships with voluntary, faith-based, federal, state, and local agencies.
• Attend meetings in assigned regions, in person or virtual.
• Serve as a member of the ESF-6 team at SEOC during exercises and events.
• Support disaster recovery centers and assistance after disasters.
• Participate in Missouri recovery planning efforts.
• Assist disaster survivors with resources and contacts.
• Participate in EMPG and SEMA required exercises.
• Lead or participate in planning efforts and write/review EHS plans.
• Develop EMPG grant EHS unit work plan activities.
• Manage and complete assigned projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
