Job summary

MoDOT is seeking an on-call Emergency Maintenance Equipment Operator at the Hannibal Maintenance Facility to perform snow removal duties during weather events. The role includes a $1/hour night premium for work from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and seasonal wage rates that vary by season and area of operation.

The position requires 18+ years of age, a CDL Class A or B (no air brake restrictions), and successful completion of background checks and drug screening. Overtime and night work may be required.

• 1st Season - $23.00
• 2nd - 3rd Season - $24.11
• 4th Season - $25.37

What you'll do:

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds. Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]).
• Registration in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen

Special Working Conditions:

• Job may require overtime and night time work.
• Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic
  areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials
