Job summary

Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking an emergency maintenance equipment operator for the Center Maintenance Facility. This on-call role handles snow removal and supporting safe travel on Missouri roads, with seasonal wage scales and a $1 night differential for night hours (7 p.m.

– 7 a.m.). Responsibilities include operating snow plow equipment, spreading ice control materials, and performing routine maintenance on vehicles and facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• CDL Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (EI or NI).
• Registration in FMCSA's Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operates plow vehicles to remove snow and spread ice control materials, and to warn oncoming traffic.
• Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds.
• Performs duties as required or assigned, under direct supervision.

This is an on-call position - hours will vary depending on weather events. The hourly rate is dependent on area of operation and seasons plowing, with an additional $1 per hour for night work (7 p.m. - 7 a.m.).

• 1st Season - $23.00
• 2nd - 3rd Season - $24.11
• 4th Season - $25.37

What You’ll Do

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds. Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]).
• Registration in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen

Special Working Conditions:

• Job may require overtime and night time work.
• Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials
