Job summary

MoDOT's Palmyra Maintenance Facility is seeking an on-call Emergency Maintenance Equipment Operator to perform snow removal on Missouri roads during weather events. The role pays hourly wages that vary by season, with an additional $1 per hour for night work (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.).

Seasonal wage rates are 1st Season $23.00, 2nd-3rd $24.11, 4th Season $25.37. Duties include operating plow vehicles, spreading ice control materials, and basic vehicle and site maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 or older.
• CDL Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (EI or NI).
• FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse registration.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic.
• Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds.
• Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

What you'll do:

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds. Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]).
• Registration in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen

• Job may require overtime and night time work.
• Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic
  areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials
