Job summary

MoDOT is seeking an on-call Emergency Maintenance Equipment Operator in Moberly to perform critical snow removal and related duties. The hourly wage varies by season and includes a $1 night premium for 7 p.m.–7 a.m. shifts.

Responsibilities include operating plow trucks and spreading ice control materials, with routine vehicle maintenance and supervision-based tasks. CDL is required, plus background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status.
• Registration in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

• Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds.

This is an on-call position - hours will vary depending on weather events. The hourly rate is dependent on area of operation and seasons plowing, with an additional $1 per hour for night work (7 p.m. - 7 a.m.)

EMERGENCY WAGE RATES:

• 1st Season - $23.00
• 2nd - 3rd Season - $24.11
• 4th Season - $25.37

What you'll do:

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]).
• Registration in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen

Special Working Conditions:

• Job may require overtime and night time work.
• Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic
  areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials
