Job summary

The Orange County Government's Fleet Management Division seeks a Power Generation Electrician to perform electrical repairs and preventive maintenance on county generators across critical facilities, install and troubleshoot controls, and support power distribution upgrades.

The role requires a Journeyman Electrical License, at least five years of electrical experience, familiarity with NFPA standards, and willingness to work non-standard hours and be on-call for emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and five years of electrical experience in industrial motor controls.
• Experience with test meters for measuring current, voltage and resistance.
• Experience reading wiring schematics and prints for repairs.
• Must be familiar with NFPA standards for fire, electrical and building safety.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs controls and electrical on heavy industrial equipment including generators and power distribution equipment.
• Maintains and troubleshoots large horsepower motors and calibrates control equipment to factory specs.
• Tests and performs preventative and predictive maintenance on motor control systems and AC/DC motors.
• Repairs and maintains an extensive power system to support building maintenance and upgrades.
